Abstract
LIQUEFIED NATURAL GAS TANK LEVEL CONTROL USING PD-PI, I-PD AND 2DOF CONTROLLERS COMPARED WITH PID CONTROL
Prof. Galal Ali Hassaan*
ABSTRACT
The control of the level of liquefied natural gas (LNG) has vitalimportance to maintain safe transportation and operation. The paperpresents the control of the level in a storage tank using three proposedcontrollers: PD-PI, I-PD and 2DOF controllers. A proper tuningtechnique is selected to tune the controllers using a proper performanceindex. The step time response of the control system using the threeproposed controllers is presented and compared with that using aconventional PID controller from previous research work. Thecomparison reveals the best controller among the three controllersdepending on a graphical and quantitative comparison study.
