ABSTRACT
In fines flocculation, our previous study showed the dependence of thecofactor (CF)- polyethylene oxide (PEO) retention aid performance on thecofactor concentration (C) in wide range. Deflocculation occurred as areverse process in all flocculation runs at different cofactor concentrationsincluding PEO alone and flocculation and deflocculation parameters werefound. In this work, we have analyzed the cofactor concentration effectand found the values of the significant parameters and concentrations thatdescribe the CF-PEO retention aid behavior. We have determined thevalues of the flocculation, deflocculation, equilibrium, reverseequilibrium rate constants; and floc size and flocculation dynamic magnifications. For more, significant important CF concentrations (points) such as asymmetric point, optimum cofactorconcentration, critical cofactor concentration, the equal flocculation and deflocculation rateconstant point, deflocculation acceleration point, and asymmetric dynamic point have beendetermined. These parameters and significant points are important to describe the CF-PEOretention aid behavior in research and in mill.
