ABSTRACT
Apparent molar volumes ( V ), viscosity B-coefficients and apparentmolar isentropic compressibilty for L-leucine and L-proline in (0.001,0.003, and 0.005) mol · kg-1 aqueous tetrabutyl phosphonium p-toluenesulphonate solutions have been determined at (298.15, 303.15, and308.15) K from solution density, ρ, viscosity, η and at 298.15 K fromsolution’s speed of sound u measurements as a function of theconcentration of L-leucine and L-proline. The limiting apparent molarvolume ( 0V ) and experimental slopes ( *V S ) obtained from the Massonequation have been interpreted in terms of solute-solvent and solute-solute interactions, respectively. The viscosity data were analyzed using the Jones-Dole equation, and the derivedparameters A and B have also been interpreted in terms of solute-solute and solute-solventinteractions, respectively, in the mixed solutions. The limiting apparent molar isentropiccompressibility ( ) and experimental slopes, values are also in perfect agreement withthe above mentioned parameters. The refractive index(nD), molar refraction (RM) has alsobeen reported.
